Publish to F-Droid

Thank you for this great app! I really like the idea of using Transitous, as it means users don’t have to decide which data provider is best.

I discovered the app by chance, and I think it would be great if it were available on F-Droid. This could help more people discover the app and make installation easier for end users. I’d also be happy to help with the process of publishing the app on F-Droid.

This has been requested a couple of times in past. Right now, I still decide against publishing on F-Droid for several reasons, most of which are probably not appropriate to be discussed in public.

If however times are changing and publication on F-Droid is about to happen, I might come back to your offer to support in the process.

F-Droid provides 2 functions: besides being an installer and updater, they also feature their catalog which helps users to discover an app. The first function is also provided by Obtainium in a similar way, and which is about the same hassle as with F-Droid. Let's see where Google will take us with their effort to block app installations outside their own store.

The second function is about presenting a searchable catalog of apps. Obtainium has started a growing catalog on their own, and it would be worth to include Öffi NG in there. As you mentioned coming from Transitous: there is an app catalog on transitous.org, and if possible Öffi NG could be listed there too. I will prepare these entries and then contact the respective operators of those web sites.
