• make the recall decision test explicit when prior context or personalization could materially improve the result
• search again when a longer chat changes topic or introduces a context-dependent subproblem
• skip self-contained questions, casual chatter, novel one-offs, fully specified work, and duplicate lookups
• keep graph retrieval and maintenance within the independent Memory app
