This menu contains textual information about your current search.

The header

The first part of the menu contains information about the state of your request and some useful functions to help you navigate through the genes efficiently.

The header of the side menu

  • Number of genes found by your request.
  • Number of genes selected if you have made a selection in the graphs.
  • Copy to clipboard button: A convenient button to copy the gene list below. This is useful if you want to quickly copy/paste the list, to enter it in an external website for instance.
  • Find bar: an input to filter the genes by entering names. This is useful if you want to quickly find a gene in the current list in order to highlight it on the graphs or get the extra information like the variants or the external links.
  • Page buttons: if a lot of genes are found, the list is split into several pages. You can then navigate through them with those previous/next buttons.

The genes

The list of genes is displayed below the previous header and contains all the genes matching one of the keywords of your request and/or every gene belonging to a preset list you selected.

The gene list of the side menu

If you leave your cursor over a gene, it will highlight his position in every graph of the interface.

Click on the gene to find some extra information:

  • Show Variants: if some variants are available for the gene, a "Show variants" link will appear.
  • Brain specificity / expression: show the specificity or expression in the 3D left hemisphere only for that gene. The window will move automatically to the chart.
  • NCBI, Ensembl, BioGPS, GTEx Portal, OMIM..: those are links to the gene page of each corresponding website. Note that the OMIM link can be absent since not all genes are in this database.
