Walkthrough
This pull request adds JIT process management to AltServer and the web interface, adds an optional local Anisette V3 server and provider implementations, and updates release packaging. It also replaces the README manuals with indexes and adds English and Italian setup, deployment, account, remote-access, and security guides.
Changes: JIT support
Layer / File(s)
Summary
Phone and AltServer JIT operations src/phone.rs, src/altserver.rs, Cargo.toml
PhoneLink can list running apps, launch an app, and enable JIT over RSD. AltServer validates a JIT target by PID or process name, checks the device UDID, and dispatches the request.
Web jobs and post-install JIT src/web.rs, src/install_archive.rs
The web API adds jobs to list running apps and enable JIT for a listed PID. IPA inspection and confirmation can pass an optional JIT choice through installation; JIT errors are reported separately from installation errors.
JIT controls and usage guidance src/web/index.html, scripts/check-web-ui.cjs, docs/en/web-and-jit.md, docs/it/web-and-jit.md
The dashboard adds a running-app selector, JIT controls, job status, and a post-install option. Tests and guides cover the controls, API, and prerequisites.

The vendored crate adds provider configuration and error types, provider contracts, ADI provisioning interfaces, and provisioning requests. The manifest adds its feature and dependency configuration.
The crate adds v1 and v3 remote providers. The v3 provider retrieves headers, performs WebSocket-coordinated provisioning, and persists provisioning state.
HTTP and WebSocket server src/anisette_server.rs, Cargo.toml
The server validates requests and native libraries, serves client-information and header routes, and manages serialized provisioning sessions with payload limits and timeouts.
CLI wiring and Anisette guidance src/main.rs, examples/docker-compose.yml, docs/en/anisette-server.md, docs/it/anisette-server.md, THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES.md
The serve command can start the local Anisette server alongside the web server. The Compose example and guides document configuration; the third-party notice identifies the vendored source and license.

Explanation
Docstring coverage is 2.74% which is insufficient. The required threshold is 80.00%. Docstring coverage is scoped to functions touched by this diff with cyclomatic complexity of at least 2. Documentation-only edits and deletions within surviving functions are included; unchanged diff context and fully deleted functions are excluded. Analyzed 73 functions across 17 files. (6 skipped: 6 unsupported.)
Resolution
Write docstrings for the functions missing them to satisfy the coverage threshold.
Full details: Title check
Explanation
The title "0.5.0" contains only a version number and no description of the change. It does not name the main change, which is the version bump with new features such as JIT enablement, the local Anisette V3 server, and the reworked documentation and release packaging. The title is vague and non-descriptive, so the check is inconclusive. The version bump itself is present in Cargo.toml, so the title is not off-topic.
Resolution
Replace the version-only title with a short sentence that names the main change. For example: "Release 0.5.0: add JIT enablement and local Anisette V3 server". Keep the version number if the release tag needs it.

Pin android-loader to a commit, not a branch.
android-loader loads and runs native Android code in-process. The dependency tracks the mutable bigger_pages branch. Cargo.lock holds the resolved commit only until someone runs cargo update. After that, the next resolve takes any new commit on that branch without review. The root manifest pins omnisette to a fixed rev. Apply the same rule to this transitive Git dependency.

Add an image build or pull step before docker compose up -d.
The Compose file only declares image: altkeeper:latest. Copying the file does not create this image, and the workflow publishes images under GHCR instead of this unqualified name. Document how to build or pull the image before this command. (raw.githubusercontent.com)

Restore TLS certificate validation for ADI provisioning.
make_http_client disables certificate validation for the lookup, start, and finish requests in provision_device. A man-in-the-middle attacker can change the provisioning responses before the values reach start_provisioning and end_provisioning.
The local server passes true to get_anisette_headers, so that specific path skips provision_device. However, the public get_authentication_headers default passes false, which can reach it. Remove the bypass and use the configured rustls roots. If gsa.apple.com does not validate against those roots in the target environment, add the required Apple CA with add_root_certificate instead of accepting invalid certificates.

Review comment at @vendor/omnisette/src/adi_proxy.rs at line 189:
Remove the invalid-certificate bypass from make_http_client so provisioning
requests validate TLS using the configured rustls roots. If gsa.apple.com
requires an additional CA in the target environment, add that CA with
add_root_certificate rather than disabling validation.

Fix the macOS lstat/fstat/open shims. They report false results and create files with undefined modes.
The shims have three defects:
lstat and fstat ignore the return value of the native call and always return 0. For a missing path, lstat reports success and returns a zeroed StatLinux. CoreADI uses these calls to probe its provisioning files, so it cannot tell a missing file from an empty one on first run.
open calls the variadic libc::open without a mode argument, even when it sets O_CREAT. The native call then reads an undefined third argument. New provisioning files get arbitrary permissions, which can make them unreadable on the next start.
open drops all other Linux flags, including O_TRUNC (0o1000), O_EXCL (0o200), and O_APPEND (0o2000). If CoreADI rewrites a file with O_TRUNC, shorter content leaves old trailing bytes.
These defects affect the Store Services Core path on macOS. The macOS release package exposes that path when the local Anisette server uses SSC.
🐛 Proposed fix
pub unsafe fn lstat(path: *const libc::c_char, buf: *mut StatLinux) -> libc::c_int {
let mut st: stat_macos = std::mem::zeroed();
- lstat_macos(path, &mut st);+ let ret = lstat_macos(path, &mut st);+ if ret != 0 {+ return ret;+ }
*buf = StatLinux {
...
- 0+ ret
}
...
pub unsafe fn fstat(fildes: libc::c_int, buf: *mut StatLinux) -> libc::c_int {
let mut st: stat_macos = std::mem::zeroed();
- fstat_macos(fildes, &mut st);+ let ret = fstat_macos(fildes, &mut st);+ if ret != 0 {+ return ret;+ }
...
- 0+ ret
}
-pub unsafe fn open(path: *const libc::c_char, oflag: libc::c_int) -> libc::c_int {+pub unsafe fn open(path: *const libc::c_char, oflag: libc::c_int, mode: libc::c_uint) -> libc::c_int {
let mut win_flag = 0;
if oflag & 0o100 != 0 {
win_flag |= O_CREAT;
}
+ if oflag & 0o200 != 0 { win_flag |= libc::O_EXCL; }+ if oflag & 0o1000 != 0 { win_flag |= libc::O_TRUNC; }+ if oflag & 0o2000 != 0 { win_flag |= libc::O_APPEND; }
...
- let val = open_macos(path, win_flag);-- val+ open_macos(path, win_flag, mode)
}
The SysV ABI passes the third argument in a register, so the hooked open can read mode safely.

Update the macOS shims `lstat`, `fstat`, and `open` to preserve native syscall
behavior: return `lstat_macos` and `fstat_macos` errors without writing the
output buffer, and return their success values. Update `open` to accept and pass
the creation mode to `open_macos` when creating files, and translate the Linux
`O_EXCL`, `O_TRUNC`, and `O_APPEND` flags alongside the existing flags.

Preserve both executable names in the macOS CLI archive.
The macOS runner creates one filesystem entry because AltKeeper and altkeeper collide. The archive therefore contains AltKeeper only. On a case-sensitive macOS volume, an existing examples/renew.sh from the previous release still calls ./altkeeper. A fresh installation fails with “file not found.” An in-place extraction leaves the old altkeeper binary untouched, so the renewal script continues to run the old binary.
Generate both tar members without relying on the runner's case-insensitive staging directory. Verify that tar -tzf lists both AltKeeper and altkeeper.
