Fixing the Axis

Fixing the Axis Pre-release
Pre-release

This release makes rotational actuators (Rotatrons, Foldatrons, Hinges, etc) much stronger and stiffer, even with heavy parts.
For better results attach heavy parts to the both sides of the actuator. This behavior is activated only if you switch rotational actuator in "Reinforced" mode. Also in that case locking the actuator physically limits the rotation, which sometimes can really fix the rotating part in place, but on the other hand could break the joint if the part is under heavy load - use with care!
Gantries were found to cause problems if scaled above 150%, so now this is the upper limit for their scale.

Keeping the Unity Pre-release
Pre-release

This release updates the code and assets so it is compatible with KSP 1.8.
Due to KSP using new Unity and due to changes within Unity itself, the joints behave somewhat differently under load, so be warned. This is being worked on.

No Special Attention Pre-release
Pre-release

This release fixes several bugs:

Fixes:

  • When several parts were surface-attached to the actuator, only one of them was really getting the autostrut.
  • Communication with FAR was broken.

Additionally, it brings back Gantry from the Legacy Pack with RO adjustments.
Electric charge now is consumed based on actuator speed - the more the speed, the more power is required.

Robotics Gets Real Pre-release
Pre-release

This is pre-release of Infernal Robotics "Classic", mostly targeting Realism Overhaul folks.
The whole shenanigans were discussed with Infernal Robotics creators, or at least, current maintainers and contributors, in particular, with ZodiusInfuser, as this pre-release contains his models and parts.
This pre-release has two major differences from IR Classic:

  • Parts stats are re-balanced for Realism Overhaul. As of now it only concerns mass and electric consumption. Mass is taken as if structural parts were made of aluminum (and some from carbon fibre) and electric consumption is taken from somewhat similar industrial actuators.
  • Actuators could be "damped" - this means that an "autostrut" is created between the parts sitting on the both ends of the actuator and, optionally, the heaviest part within this stage when the movement stops and destroyed when movement starts. This behavior could be set and tuned in VAB/SPH in Part Action Window (Soft/Hard damping, Spring and Damper strength).

As of now, only "pure" parts are included - Surface Sampler, Landing Leg and Grapplers were removed.
Also, the RP-1 config is not ready yet.
