Failing test suitesCommit: d7d6a8a | About building and testing Next.js
Expand output● app dir - basepath › should properly stream an internal server action redirect() with a relative URL
Expand output● add-missing-react-import › transforms correctly using "add-missing-react-import/missing-react-import-in-component" data
Expand output● app dir client cache with parallel routes › prefetch={true} › should prefetch the full page
Expand output● interception-dynamic-segment › Default.tsx injection validation (no 404s allowed) › should navigate to /has-page without 404 (page fills children) |

Cookie parsing in getCookieLocale doesn't correctly handle cookie values that contain = characters. The destructuring only captures the value up to the first =, dropping any remaining content.
View Details
Analysis
Cookie parsing in getCookieLocale drops content after first = in cookie value
What fails: The getCookieLocale() function in packages/next-routing/src/i18n.ts uses destructuring const [key, value] = cookie.trim().split('=') which only captures the first two array elements. When a cookie value contains an = character, everything after the first = is lost.
How to reproduce:
// Cookie with equals sign in the value
getCookieLocale('NEXT_LOCALE=en=US', ['en', 'en=US'])Result: The function splits the cookie into ['NEXT_LOCALE', 'en', 'US'] but the destructuring only assigns key='NEXT_LOCALE' and value='en', dropping 'US'. The full value 'en=US' is never preserved.
Expected: The full cookie value including all = characters should be preserved. The correct implementation (used in packages/next-routing/src/matchers.ts lines 58-60) uses the spread operator: const [key, ...valueParts] = cookie.trim().split('=') followed by valueParts.join('=') to reconstruct the complete value.
Fix applied: Changed line 173 from const [key, value] = cookie.trim().split('=') to use the spread operator pattern:
const [key, ...valueParts] = cookie.trim().split('=')
if (key && valueParts.length > 0) {
acc[key] = decodeURIComponent(valueParts.join('='))
}This aligns with the pattern already used elsewhere in the codebase and ensures cookie values with embedded = characters are handled correctly.
This adds a shared routing package which can be used to resolve routes provided from the adapter API to the final output that should be served/invoked. It aims to handle all the routing done in
next-serverand allows an simplified interface for invoking the middleware output however that is deployed.
