Android release job needs java_version: Gradle 8.14.3 cannot run on JDK 25 #98

Problem

The Android release job fails in build apk: it runs on JDK 25, and the Gradle wrapper in apps/numveil/android/gradle/wrapper/gradle-wrapper.properties is 8.14.3, which cannot run on JDK 25. See tehw0lf/workflows#177.

tehw0lf/workflows#178 lets a caller choose the JDK through java_version, but the default stays 25, so this repository has to set the input in .github/workflows/build-projects.yml.

What to do

• Pass java_version in build-projects.yml. With Gradle 8.14, Android Gradle Plugin 8.13.0 and Java source/target level 21, the versions "21" to "24" work; "21" is the LTS.
• Later, as its own change: update the Gradle wrapper to 9.1 or newer (and the Android Gradle Plugin if needed) and drop the input again.
