What this changes

Document Properties ▸ Initial View ▸ Magnification now offers 25% and 100%, so the
percentages run 25, 50, 75, 100, 125, 150, 200. Before, the list jumped from Fit Visible to 50% and
from 75% to 125%.

Only the dropdown changes. set_initial_view and doc_initial_view already write and read any
percentage, so the engine and automation need nothing new.

Fixes #5254

How you verified it

Ran on Ubuntu 24.04 (WSL), Rust 1.99.1:

  • cargo fmt --all --check: clean

  • cargo clippy -p pdfcraft-ui-egui --all-targets -- -D warnings: clean

  • cargo test -p pdfcraft-ui-egui --no-fail-fast: the new test and initial_view_is_edited_and_honoured_on_open pass. Of the rest:

    • unit tests: 588 of 589 pass
    • integration tests: 1171 of 1204 pass
    • perf tests: 3 of 3 pass

The 34 failures are this machine, not the change. 30 have no GPU adapter (No adapter found from kittest's wgpu renderer; WSL has no mesa). 4 have no system font for Arabic, CJK or U+FFFD (no CRAFT_FONTS_DIR). None of them touch the Initial View dialog, so I left them to CI.

  • cargo clippy -p pdfcraft-organize --all-targets -- -D warnings: clean; cargo test -p pdfcraft-organize: 181 passed

  • cargo xtask parity: passes

  • cargo xtask layers / cargo xtask assets: not run, no crate boundary or asset touched

Tests. New viewer::initial_view_magnification_offers_25_and_100_percent (kittest):

  • picks 100%, then 25%, from the Magnification dropdown
  • checks the draft each time
  • clicks OK and checks the document's initial view is Percent(25.0)
  • reopens the saved bytes and checks the view opens at zoom 0.25

I reverted the fix and saw the test fail: No nodes found matching the query: label: "100%", role: Button.

Never-crash

  • No new unwrap/expect/panic!/unreachable!/todo! outside tests
  • No indexing or slicing with input-derived positions
  • No unsafe
  • Any crash this fixes has a regression test: n/a, not a crash

Provenance

Security

  • --root confinement untouched
  • MCP and the control channel untouched
  • No new outbound network access

Parity and reach

  • parity/acrobat-features.toml: the new test is added to the organize.initial-view evidence; the status (shipped) and notes are unchanged
  • Already reachable headlessly: doc_initial_view takes any percentage (1–6400)
  • No documented behaviour changes

Anything a reviewer should look at first

  • 100% and Actual Size write the same destination (/XYZ null null 1), and initial_view reads zoom 1 back as Actual Size. So a file set to 100% shows "Actual Size" the next time Document Properties opens. The view it opens at is identical. I left that read alone rather than change how existing files are labelled, and added a one-line comment at the list. If you'd rather 100% stay distinct, it needs a different encoding, not just a list entry.
  • set_initial_view now treats 100% as Actual Size (second commit, from CodeRabbit's review). Without it, picking 100% on a file whose opening action is /XYZ left top 1 or a named destination at zoom 1 compared unequal and rewrote the action, dropping its position or name. organize::tests::choosing_100_percent_keeps_an_actual_size_opening_destination pins this. With the fix reverted it fails: [5 0 R /XYZ 100 500 1] becomes [5 0 R /XYZ null null 1.0]. The same test checks that 100% saves and reopens as Actual Size.
  • The list now scrolls. With 13 entries it is taller than the dropdown, so the test scrolls the item into view before clicking it.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features

    • Added 100% to the Initial View magnification options.
  • Bug Fixes

    • Selecting 100% preserves an existing opening destination that already represents Actual Size.
    • Saved initial-view magnification settings, including 25% and 100%, are retained when the document is reopened.
  • Tests

    • Added coverage for magnification options and opening destinations.

Document Properties > Initial View > Magnification listed 50, 75, 125,
150 and 200%. Add 25% and 100%. The engine and doc_initial_view already
take any percentage, so only the dropdown changes.

100% is written as Actual Size is (/XYZ zoom 1) and reads back as Actual
Size; the opened view is the same.

Security review details

Security Blast Radius

  • inferred — The effective change is bounded to opening-destination preservation in the document being edited, including edits initiated through existing automation. The inspected paths do not add caller privileges or expand execution authority.

Trust Boundaries and Controls

  • observed — The new UI choices remain inside the existing editable guard and use the existing Initial View edit flow. The comparison helper operates on magnification values; it does not introduce an action-execution path.

Resilience and Maintainability Implications

  • observed — Repeated 100% edits preserve an existing zoom-1 destination. Page bounds are checked before mutation, and the shared session edit flow uses a cloned document with success-dependent commit and rollback handling, preserving the existing partial-failure containment model.

Full details: Description check

Explanation

The description covers the behavior change, verification commands and results, test coverage, known environment-related failures, safety checks, parity updates, and reviewer considerations. It is substantially complete and aligned with the changeset.

Full details: Linked Issues check

Explanation

Issue #5254 requests 25% and 100% choices in Document Properties > Initial View > Magnification. The PR adds both choices. The new initial_view_magnification_offers_25_and_100_percent test selects both labels and checks the draft values. The test also verifies that 25% saves and reopens at zoom 0.25. The implementation maps 100% to ActualSize when comparing opening magnifications, which preserves existing zoom-1 destinations and matches the documented save/read behavior.

Full details: Out of Scope Changes check

Explanation

The changes remain connected to issue #5254. The UI change adds the requested choices. The same_magnification change prevents selecting 100% from rewriting an equivalent zoom-1 opening destination. The organize and UI tests cover selection, saving, reopening, and destination preservation. The parity file update records the related test evidence. No unrelated production behavior or assets are identified.

Full details: Docstring Coverage

Explanation

Docstring coverage is 50.00% which is insufficient. The required threshold is 80.00%. Docstring coverage is scoped to functions touched by this diff with cyclomatic complexity of at least 2. Documentation-only edits and deletions within surviving functions are included; unchanged diff context and fully deleted functions are excluded. Analyzed 4 functions across 4 files.

Resolution

Write docstrings for the functions missing them to satisfy the coverage threshold.

Keep the 25% persistence check and add a separate 100% persistence test.

Reversing the choices and replacing the assertions removes coverage for saving and reopening 25%. Add a second test for 100%. Assert Percent(100.0) before saving, and ActualSize after reopening because serialization maps 100% to the ActualSize representation.

An /XYZ opening destination with zoom 1 reads as Actual Size. Choosing
100% compared unequal to it, so set_initial_view replaced the action
with a bare /XYZ null null 1 and dropped its position or named
destination. Compare 100% as Actual Size, the zoom both write.

Add a 100% save check to the Initial View test.

The test selects 100% in the dialog, then selects 25% before clicking OK. The save and reopen checks therefore cover only 25%. A regression that drops or rewrites a 100% edit on save would not fail this test. The organize test calls set_initial_view directly and does not exercise the dialog save path.

Reopen the dialog after the existing reopen check, select 100%, click OK, and assert the saved value.

The UI test picked 100% but saved 25%, so the dialog's save path was
covered for 25% only. Reopen the dialog, save 100% and check that it
reads back as Actual Size and the saved file opens at zoom 1.

The test read the saved magnification from the original session, and a
file with no opening zoom also opens at zoom 1, so a save that dropped
100% would still have passed. Read the magnification from the reopened
document and check its view's fit too.

LGTM.

Fecha a #5254. Nada a corrigir (CI ainda UNSTABLE — confirmar verde).
