Thanks for flagging these privacy gaps. Commit 0e8dbc3 redacts the duplicate-entry name and configured Selenium URL from diagnostic logs; Selenium error logs retain only the exception class. Validation: the focused config-flow suite passed (49 tests). Black, compileall, and git diff --check also passed. The suite emitted one RuntimeWarning in the existing test_get_councils_json_failure test. |
…stics Home Assistant config-flow and setup logs previously included complete config dictionaries and CLI argument values at debug/info level - postcodes, UPRNs, house numbers, private council/Selenium URLs, and user-supplied names. Those records are often collected for HA diagnostics and shared outside the local installation. Adds redact_config_data(), applied everywhere a config dict or Selenium URL was logged, and drops raw UKBCD argument values from logs in favour of an argument count. Config-flow behavior is unchanged; only what reaches the logs is affected. Credit: dajiaohuang (#2239).

Thanks for this — good privacy fix, and the test coverage held up even though pytest wasn't runnable on your host. Folded into the next release PR in #2241 with credit. Closing this one out. Generated by Claude Code |
Summary
Home Assistant config-flow and setup diagnostics previously logged complete config dictionaries and CLI argument values. Those records can include postcodes, UPRNs, house numbers, private URLs, driver endpoints, or user-supplied names.
