##Taurus ###About
Taurus is a backend service for Scorepio Android app.
It was developed specifically as a server part of Scorepio, but it is also an example of a simple RESTful service implemented in Scala using Play! framework.
It demonstrates the following:
- How to use Play! to handle JSON requests and responses
- How to store data in PostgreSQL currently using Anorm
- How to handle BASIC HTTP-authentication in Play!
- How to provide GZIP compression
- and more...
The code is deployed on Heroku where it runs 24/7.
###Requirements
Taurus requires a few things to run:
- PostgreSQL database
- Java JRE 6 or newer
- Play! Framework version 2.1+
###Environment
Taurus requires 2 environment variables to be set:

###Running
