A proper solution could is suggested in #211
Changes proposed in this pull request:
Changed the colorbar orientation to horizontal. While this is expected improve the visibility of the axes/tick labels for a larger number of cases it's not a solution for all cases. Skinny/tall plots will result in an obstructed view on the bottom axes.
