Modbus Frontend (React + Vite + TypeScript)

This project is a React Vite + TypeScript application that serves as the frontend for a Spring Boot + J2Mod backend. The backend communicates with a pymodbus slave, allowing the user to read/write Modbus registers via an HTTP API.

🚀 Getting Started

1️⃣ Prerequisites

Make sure you have the following installed:

• Node.js (>= 16.x) – Download here
• npm (comes with Node.js) OR yarn (optional)
• Git – Download here

2️⃣ Clone the Repository

git clone https://github.com/yourusername/modbus-frontend.git
cd modbus-frontend

3️⃣ Install Dependencies

npm install
yarn install

4️⃣ Create a .env File

Make sure to create the .env file in the root.

VITE_API_URL=http://localhost:8081

5️⃣ Start the Development Server

npm run dev

Make sure to run the backend and pyModSlave before interacting with the web page as detailed in the README for backend.

📡 API Endpoints

The frontend communicates with the backend through the following HTTP endpoints:

• Write Single Register
• Endpoint: POST /modbus/slave/write-single
