(Use Case Vocabulary) Analysis on core & result positionning down the hole

PeterWarren edited this page Nov 22, 2018 · 1 revision

Summary

Voluminous mineralogical scanning of archived drill cores around the Australian continent. Similar to other countries, Australian state governments have an obligation to accept, selectively archive and provide all data they have on boreholes drilled within their borders. In collaboration with these state governments and the CSIRO, the AuScope NVCL project developed and operated spectral reflectance scanners to characterise the mineralogy of a selection of the held core. These scans produce high resolution images, spectral reflectance, automated and expert interpretation products at a fixed ~8mm intervals down the core.
