Maintainer notes
Dock Doctor is a native Omarchy Quattro window for read-only USB topology, observed connection events, and negotiated-link comparisons against a saved working baseline. It uses Qt Quick within the existing shell and Python 3.11+ standard library. The optional system udevadm monitor triggers refreshes; periodic scans remain available.
No network requests, hardware writes, privileged helper, package installer, system service, or configuration replacement. State and user-requested reports are stored privately under XDG_STATE_HOME/dock-doctor. The observer exits on stdin closure or SIGTERM; its event monitor is bound to the observer lifetime, including abrupt termination. A lock prevents duplicate observers. Device metadata is bounded and rendered as plain text. Retained-state operations reuse the reviewed descriptor-relative filesystem protections from Babyface Control, documented in SECURITY.md.
The preview is an original screenshot of the explicitly labeled illustrative mode. Normal startup shows live sysfs readings. Demo actions never replace live state. Link speed is not measured throughput or hardware health; short events between observations may be missed.
Submitted version: 1.0.3, corrected commit 052802d4f85ebdc152bc7d2a15de7f1a99c6a3af. Packaging correction and validation: removed root AGENTS.md from the installable repository tree, ignored local copies, and added a regression against tracked reintroduction. The regression fails on the previously reviewed commit and passes on the corrected tree. All 68 Python tests, 22 Qt results, native lifecycle/cold-loading checks, manifest validation, and hosted Linux x64/arm64 checks passed. Runtime behavior is unchanged by this packaging correction. Physical arm64 USB hardware and manual hotplug timing remain untested.
Version 1.0.1 fixes live views on multiple monitors by sharing one observer across all widgets. It also labels local USB root hubs as numbered USB buses with controller icons, avoiding the impression of additional computers. Native regression coverage includes widget removal/recreation and observer shutdown after the final widget is removed.
Version 1.0.2 fixes cold external plugin loading: the shared observer has an explicit runtime module declaration. A new native regression presses both bar badge handlers and verifies fresh live readings after closing and reopening the windows.
Version 1.0.3 adds a detected computer root using each machine’s own system name and hardware model. Its default tree folds internal USB routing; Show USB paths restores all raw buses and hubs. Computer metadata is separate from device counts and baselines. Metadata reads are bounded and read-only, with generic fallback if unavailable.

Security review at exact validated/current HEAD
f7a67d87c7379493a519a9c17dde08ed543ce694is blocked by the rootAGENTS.mdin the published repository tree.Marketplace installation places this root file inside the installed plugin checkout, where coding agents can automatically interpret repository-level agent instructions. That makes submission-authored instructions part of the user's ambient agent context.
Please remove
AGENTS.mdfrom the installable root or move human contributor guidance to a non-agent path such asdocs/CONTRIBUTING.md, then submit and validate the corrected exact commit for a fresh review.Kb2uka commentedon Sep 13, 2026
Resubmitted the corrected exact commit
052802d4f85ebdc152bc7d2a15de7f1a99c6a3affor fresh review by updating this submission and rerunning marketplace validation.Removed root
AGENTS.mdfrom the published tree rather than relocating the internal workflow instructions. Local copies are ignored, and a packaging regression now rejects tracked reintroduction. Correction and validation: PR #5.Marketplace compatibility validation and the automated security baseline both passed on this exact commit. All 68 Python tests, 22 Qt results, native lifecycle/cold-loading checks, and Linux x64/arm64 hosted checks also passed.
Thank you for flagging the packaging issue. Please review this corrected commit for listing.
