The validator's L42 mentions the TODO of inspecting the usage of .default below.

This issue should only give visibility to that TODO. I'll create a parallel PR that removes the comment: #250.
In case the comment is simply outdated, the PR can be merged and this issue can be closed with it. In case the comment is still relevant, the PR can be merged as well and this issue is the comment's successor.
