24.0.0 RC1 non-gplay version doesn't give option for unified push notifications

1. Install nextcloud-talk-24.0.0RC1.apk from releases
2. Log in to nextcloud server
3. check notification settings in the app

Expected behaviour

Option exists for unified push

Actual behaviour

Settings say "Google Play services are not available. Notifications are not supported".

Hey, I installed the non-gplay version of the 24.0.0 RC1 nextcloud-talk-24.0.0RC1.apk and the release notes mention unified push support, but when I go to settings in the app it says "Google Play services are not available. Notifications are not supported". I also don't see nextcloud talk registered in my unifiedpush distributor app NextPush.

Is unifiedpush supposed to be supported in 24.0.0 RC1?

I think you need a 34 server which is currently in RC phase.

Ah I think you're right, I thought it was already part of 33, but it looks like the PR for it is marked with the milestone of nextcloud 34 nextcloud/notifications#2662.

But, on non-gplay option, I don't have any option to choose a push server.

I have NextPush on my phone too.

I just figured that out. You need to enable WebPush on the Nextcloud server.

First - Enable the app "Dav Push" on the Nextcloud app store

Second - Enable Web Push on the Notifications configuration page

Third - Now reconfigure the Nextcloud Talk again (Remember to download the non-gplay one)

I hope this helps anybody, because I looked everywhere and did not find a way to enable it.

@H2Oufoe thanks for figuring that out! I was waiting for memories to be compatible with nextcloud 34 before updating. I'll try your instructions with the latest version now that everything is compatible with nextcloud 34.
