Mail 5.12.0: New message compose window opens aligned to far right of screen

Steps to reproduce

1. Open Nextcloud Mail.
2. Click New message.
3. Observe the position of the compose window.

Expected behavior

The compose window should open in its normal position, with appropriate spacing from the browser edges, as it did before the update to Mail 5.12.0.

Actual behavior

Since updating Nextcloud Mail to version 5.12.0, the New message compose window opens at the far right side of the browser window instead of being positioned normally/centrally.
The issue is visible in the attached screenshot.

I also think that it's not very ergonomic to have the compose window this far off center. Please move it back to the center 🙂

You can download customCSS and add this for 90% when maximize the window:

@wprauchholz thank you for your suggestions, that is not a bug, but i agree that is not the best solution either.

@kra-mo can we please have a look at this design-wise? Should we have on the side only the small version, so people can read messages while the composer is opened, but if people click maximise modal they should see a large modal in the middle of their screen, instead of the current version?

From a user perspective.....
We are using Nextcloud at our (startup) company.
We'd love to use NC e2e. We almost doing that with the exception of Mail. The editor is currently too small.
It is fine if one writes a small email. It does not work for longer emails or if you respond and want to read through the email string.
@helioaiolis solution he posted here provides what I need. It wold be great if that could become part of the standard. I think there is no need to re-invent the wheel.

@GretaD What you said makes sense. Having it in a modal maximized, and whether it has been maximized or not should be remembered. But I'd also say to clamp the position when minimized at a certain point. So for users with very wide displays, don't place it all the way to the side. Do you think that makes sense?

Yes, for example - the modal should occupy around 80% of the viewport, centered both horizontally and vertically.

@GretaD right, sorry, I meant not the modal. But that even the non-modal composer should be closer to the center only when the display is really wide, i.e. ultrawide.
