While I am attempting to completely replace this BIP with BIP275, it felt wrong to see all the errors in it and not do something about it.
The worst problem was the backwards comparability of this scheme.
Having 2 types of payment requests in the same URI is not compatibility - it's chaos.
BIP-21 described a scheme for handling such situations - the required parameters.
If BIP-72 wasn't marked as final years ago, I would go and fix it as well.
The current version is a mess.
