AI-Powered Infrared Image Colorization & Enhancement for Improved Object Interpretation

A Django-based prototype for enhancing and visualizing Thermal Infrared (TIR) satellite imagery.


📖 Project Overview

IRVision AI is an open-source web application designed to improve the interpretation of Thermal Infrared (TIR) satellite imagery. The system enhances infrared images using advanced image processing techniques and generates semantic pseudo-color visualizations that make objects easier to interpret.

This project serves as a prototype for future AI-based super-resolution and infrared-to-RGB colorization using paired Landsat satellite datasets.

🛰️ Problem Statement

Thermal Infrared (TIR) satellite images are difficult to interpret because they are low-resolution and lack natural colors. This project aims to improve visual interpretation by enhancing image quality and generating meaningful pseudo-color outputs, helping users better analyze geographical features.

⚙️ Installation

Clone the repository

git clone https://github.com/mahi17916/IRVision-AI.git

Move into project directory

cd IRVision-AI

Install dependencies

pip install -r requirements.txt

Apply migrations

python manage.py migrate

Run the server

python manage.py runserver

Open your browser:

http://127.0.0.1:8000/
