WhatsApp Contact Exporter.

A Chrome extension that allows you to extract and export your WhatsApp Web contacts to CSV, vCard, or Excel formats

Manual Installation

  1. Download or clone this repository
  2. Open Chrome and navigate to chrome://extensions/
  3. Enable "Developer mode" by toggling the switch in the top-right corner
  4. Click "Load unpacked" and select the extension folder
  5. The extension should now be installed and visible in your browser toolbar

How to Use

  1. Open WhatsApp Web in your Chrome browser
  2. Login to your WhatsApp account by scanning the QR code
  3. Click on the WhatsApp Contact Exporter extension icon in your toolbar
  4. Click the "Extract Contacts" button
  5. Wait for the extraction to complete
  6. Choose your preferred export format (CSV, vCard, or Excel)
  7. Save the exported file to your computer

Requirements

  • Google Chrome browser
  • An active WhatsApp account
  • WhatsApp Web access

Privacy

This extension runs locally in your browser and does not send any data to external servers. Your contacts remain private and secure.

Limitations

  • The extension can only extract contacts that are visible in your WhatsApp Web interface
  • Phone numbers may not be available for all contacts depending on WhatsApp's data structure
  • The extension must be re-run each time you want to update your contact list
