Summary

  • run the publish job dependency install under MIX_ENV=dev
  • run mix hex.publish under MIX_ENV=dev so ExDoc's docs task is available

Validation

  • git diff --check
  • parsed .github/workflows/ci.yml with Ruby YAML
  • MIX_ENV=dev mix docs --warnings-as-errors
  • MIX_ENV=dev mix hex.build --unpack --output /private/tmp/live_style_hex_build

Notes

The failed v0.16.3 publish did not create a Hex release; Hex still reports latest as 0.16.2.

Pull request overview

This PR adjusts the Hex publish workflow to run under MIX_ENV=dev so that dev-only tooling (notably ex_doc) is available when mix hex.publish triggers documentation generation during releases.

Changes:

  • Run mix deps.get in the publish job with MIX_ENV=dev.
  • Run mix hex.publish --yes in the publish job with MIX_ENV=dev (while still passing HEX_API_KEY).
