Man pages

It seems there’s not much in the way of step-by-step instructions for preparing man pages; the Linux Man Page HOWTO is a good starting point but after that it’s mostly a matter of copying ideas from /usr/share/man
and modifying with trial-and-error. Edit the man page with any text editor. You can view it without installing by specifying the full path to the file, e.g. man ./syslog-notify.1
if the syslog-notify
man page is in the current directory.
