This is the glint-nes hacking guide. It explains how to customize glint-nes the way you want.
This guide is intended for builders and modders - people who want to take a stock Raspbian image and convert it to a glint-nes box, or people who want to take an existing glint-nes box and customize it with support for their own controller, or customized graphics and theming, etc.
This is not to be confused with people who simply want to download the latest release and play games. This guide explains the internal guts of glint-nes, and therefore goes far beyond what is needed to know in order to simply enjoy glint-nes as an end user.
If you're new to Linux and/or the Raspberry Pi, this guide can provide some insight into Linux software and configuration, by way of explaining how glint-nes is setup on a base image. However, it is by no means a replacement for learning Linux itself.
Also, if you're just a casual gamer who is only interested in playing with glint-nes, and you have no interest in understanding or building or customizomg glint-nes to your personal preferences, then this guide IS NOT FOR YOU, as it will go into a lot of technical detail that will surely be uninteresting and irrelevant to you. If this describes you, you're probably looking for our downloads page.
