Changelog

  • Add new yaml options: EnemyRandomizer, EncounterShuffleType, EnemyStatScaling, ShuffleChapterStats, BadgeBP, BadgeFP, PartnerFP
  • EnemyRandomizer allows you to shuffle enemy encounters either within their own chapter or completely randomly across the entire game
  • EncounterShuffleType determines how enemies are grouped when randomizing — either keeping vanilla encounter groups intact, or regrouping enemies individually into new encounters based on enemy count
  • EnemyStatScaling scales enemy stats based on the chapter they appear in, independent of the enemy randomizer setting
  • ShuffleChapterStats shuffles the stat scaling values between chapters, so chapter 1 enemies could use chapter 5 scaling, etc. Requires EnemyStatScaling to be enabled
  • BadgeBP allows you to change the BP cost of all badges — keep them vanilla, shuffle costs among each other, or assign random costs between 0 and 6
  • BadgeFP allows you to change the FP cost of all badges — keep them vanilla, shuffle costs among each other, or assign random costs between 0 and 6
  • PartnerFP allows you to change the FP cost of all partner moves — keep them vanilla, shuffle costs among each other, or assign random costs between 0 and 6
  • Seed playthroughs now check your required_stars only as opposed to any star when checking for goal.
  • Some star piece locations will now be disabled if there are not enough star pieces randomized.

Bugfixes

  • Fixed tattles in the pit being in logic way too early.
  • Fixed a check in rogueport sewers that was in logic without paper made while blue pipes were disabled.
  • Fixed a few cutscenes that were skipped improperly
  • Fixed a few instances where some tattles did not show up in the trash can at the right time
  • Other small misc. tweaks to the mod and apworld

Changelog

  • Add new yaml options: RequiredStarsToggle, RequiredStars, ShopPurchaseLimit, Keysanity, BluePipeToggle, GrubbaBribeDirection, GrubbaBribeCost
  • RequiredStarsToggle and RequiredStars can be used to manually select which stars are logically required to enter the palace and goal as opposed to a random selection
  • ShopPurchaseLimit allows you to select which types of items can be purchased infinitely in the shops, including badges and consumables.
  • Keysanity allows you to pre-place keys in their own dungeons if disabled.
  • BluePipeToggle allows you to disable the use of blue pipes in Rogueport Sewers, changing logic.
  • GrubbaBribeDirection allows you to choose which ranks grubba charges you for to move up or down. Pay for 1 direction or the other, or both.
  • GrubbaBribePrice lets you change how much each bribe rank will cost in coins, from 0 through 50
  • Various cutscenes have been added to the CutsceneSkip setting
  • Added a manifest for APv0.7.0 compatibility
  • Patching will now fail starting with v0.8.0 if the versions of your apworld and patch mismatch

  • Various client safeguards for goaling and sending out checks accidentally

  • Fixed various issues with items having progression items in them even though they should be filler or limited

Additions

  • New Yaml Option: DazzleItems. All 15 of dazzle's items can be randomized, including settings for Any item or just filler items.
  • UT Support. If you have Universal Tracker installed then the TTYD Client will have a tracker page built in from UT.

Misc. Changes

  • StarShuffle now supports shuffling stars between themselves, for random stars at the end of every chapter.
  • Credits will now trigger with crystals_stars and bonetail as goal options, once the objective has been completed respectively.

Bugfixes

  • Fixed the second lock in the storage room in chapter 3 from opening too early without using the jey
  • Fixed not being able to buy hot dogs from the hot dog seller during the yoshi egg sequence
  • Fixed ch.3 cutscene playing during the epilogue if the chapter was never visited
  • Fixed riddle tower warp point not being unlocked on first visit
  • Fixed misc. issues with items not being obtainable after picking up a shuffled crystal star
  • Fixed issue with blue switch in ch.2 pool room
  • Fixed issue when generating on the website where players would crash in the ch.6 luggage cart

Generation Changes

  • Crystal stars will now follow LCL logic based on what chapter they are from.
  • Pit items now check for chapter completions rather than crystal stars.
  • Final staircase item in palace of shadow cannot have stars placed into them.
  • Many pre-placed items are now properly removed from the item pool.

Bugfixes

  • Fixed issues related to star item collection. This includes getting crystal stars in chests and during certain events. This also includes things movement related when collecting a star.
  • Fixed issue where you would not get a new star power when receiving a crystal star from another world.

New Features

  • New Settings: Piecesanity, Shopsanity, Shinesanity, and StarShuffle. Added sanity options for certain checks to customize what you can randomize. This does not add any new checks. StarShuffle allows you to shuffle crystal stars into the item pool as normal items.

Settings Changes

  • random_partner and random_color have been removed. You can add random as an option to your yaml, or use settings weights to get the same effect. There is no partner or color bias when using random as an option.

Mod Updates

  • You will now be blocked from entering the throne room in the palace of shadows if you do not have the required amount of stars. Shadow Queen goal now uses goal_stars to determine how many stars are needed to reach grodus.
  • Some small failsafes were added to chapter 2 in the case you did not get 101 punies in certain cases.
  • Some fast travel points were tweaked.
  • You will now properly be blocked from teleporting in chapter 5 if you just beat cortez and have not finished the intermission.
  • Some small text fixes and flag changes related to items.

Known Issues

  • Getting a crystal star from don pianta causes some of the music to play incorrectly.

  • Shop item descriptions are now color coded based on item classification
  • Shop prices have been tweaked for newly added items in 0.5.2
  • Item block in room 1 of twilight trail in the shed has been moved to prevent an item getting stuck on the roof
  • Logic tweaked for a few items in hooktails castle, removing paper mode from them

v0.5.2 Changelog

Note

All games and yamls generated with an older apworld will no longer be compatible starting with 0.5.2. Future updates will continue to provide compatibility with old updates, starting from this one.

New Features

  • New Yaml Options: MusicSettings, BlockVisibility, and ZeroBPFirstAttack.
  • MusicSettings: Choose between vanilla music, randomized music, and no music at all.
  • BlockVisibility: This lets you turn hidden blocks into visible ones.
  • ZeroBPFIrstAttack: As the name implies, the badge First Attack will cost 0 BP.
  • All shop items will now show the player name and item name for that player if it belongs to another someone other than yourself.
  • New fast travel points have been added to the riddle tower and the excess express.
  • Some new Misc. items have been added to the item pool, and most item frequencies have been tweaked.

Misc. Changes

  • Goombella will now be a useful item with tattlesanity off.
  • Various items have had their grammer and descriptions updated
  • Various textboxes have been updated
  • All keys have had their in-game names updated to match the apworld
  • Yoshi sprites in-game will now be the appropriate color
  • Stage level is now updated properly with the starting level yaml option

  • Entering the rogueport docks will no longer have overlapping ships after beating ch.5

  • gclib is no longer required to be installed to patch your game. Any gclib installed for TTYD can be safely removed from the lib folder.
  • Sleepy Stomp and Attack FX B have been added to the item pool
  • All badges have been marked as useful items. Gold bars, Whacka Bump, and star pieces have also been marked as useful items.
  • Pit set to vanilla will now have the locations enabled with the vanilla items force locked in the locations.
  • Whacka bump sell price has been reduced
  • Lucky Lottery check in west rogueport has been renamed for clarity
