[Question] Question about Isaac Lab scene lighting

Hi,

Recently, when I run Isaac Lab, the scene sometimes appears almost entirely black. I’m not sure why this is happening — everything was working fine before. Could you give me some hints on what might be causing this issue? Thank you.

Thank you for posting this. Maybe an update to your system conflicted with the Isaac Lab setup. Here are a few things to check:

• No or Disabled Lights: If all light sources are missing or disabled, the scene will render black. Check in Isaac Sim if the default light is still enabled, and consider adding or resetting lights such as a distant light, sphere light, or disk light through either the Isaac Sim UI or scripting.
• View Layer/Encoding Issues: Some installation or launch problems can interfere with rendering. Look for errors in the console that reference encoding, missing libraries, or GPU support.
• Camera/Rendering Configuration: A black scene may result from cameras being set up incorrectly or pointed away from relevant geometry. Also, ensure the camera’s exposure isn't set too low.

In fact, it has not happened before. The scene is sometimes typical, but sometimes it is rendered black.
I have enabled the lights all the time, and there is no error output from the console, and the camera setup is normal. I wonder how I can change the camera's exposure?

Following up on this, I will move this to our Discussions for follow up. There is not a direct parameter for camera exposure that you can set, but you have access to f_stop and apertures. See this doc for ref.
