A simple background utility that prevents Windows from going to sleep or locking the screen after inactivity, even if this behavior is enforced by a system administrator.
Build your own executable on Windows using Go 1.25 or later:
go build -o awake.exe main.goOr download the awake.zip artifact from the latest release, unpack awake.exe file and place it in a desired location (%USERPROFILE% usually is a good choice), and run it.
The utility runs in the background until a restart or logoff. You can force it to stop by opening Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc).
To make the utility start automatically at each Windows logon, add it to the Startup folder:
- Press Win + R.
- In the dialog that appears, type "
shell:startup" and press Enter or click OK. - In the opened File Explorer window, place either the executable itself or a shortcut to it.
