Summary
Reuse a Linux IPv6 wildcard QUIC listener for IPv4 dials when the socket is
actually dual-stack. This avoids opening a separate ephemeral IPv4 UDP socket
and keeps outbound QUIC traffic on the configured listener port.
Affected Areas
Dependencies
Impact on Library Users
Linux nodes listening on a dual-stack IPv6 wildcard address no longer need an
additional IPv4 dial-only UDP socket. Exact-family listeners remain preferred,
and specific IPv6 binds are not reused for IPv4.
Risk Assessment
Reuse is limited to IPv6 wildcard sockets whose kernel dual-stack option is
enabled. Other platforms and socket configurations retain the existing
selection behavior.
