a patchwork progression from one to the other
completely untrue that this could be new
as random as patterns of thought or of weather
it's widely revered but known to the few

i can't see why we don't roll back time
at least our state of mind
and live independently

we could be fast or we could be slow
and we're the only ones who know
the patchwork has come, progression has passed
and we're the ones that make it last

now it's come alive and we're moving through it
time allows us to grow

and as these things come to be heard
by the populace I wonder if it's acknowledged
that we're all on the far edge
of the way this game is played
it's all a charade. it's all a charade
patchwork conveyed, not long delayed
for all to hear, on our own time
attention is rewarded
