this is not really needed but a good thing to do after some time

tonic changed some things and to keep up with performance we bumped it to 0.14: protocol may break if we don't keep up (still possible to lock version)

regarding FFI:

  • java needs a tiny bit of changes due to rust 2024 stuff
  • lua seems ok
  • python has a couple of lint warnings but seems ok, more stuff may be available
  • js is a mess, napi changed a LOT of stuff
