pom.xmlThis major version upgrade from Tomcat 8.5.x to 9.0.x introduces significant breaking changes, including a mandatory Java version update and API modifications that require code changes for embedded usage.Highlights:- Java 8 Required : Tomcat 9.0.x requires Java 8 or later, while version 8.5.x only required Java 7. [1]- Embedded Connector Initialization: Tomcat 9 no longer creates a default connector automatically. You must explicitly call tomcat.getConnector() to initialize it. [4]- API and Specification Changes: The upgrade implements Servlet 4.0, which can cause class conflicts in JSPs. [1] Additionally, internal APIs are not binary compatible, and support for BIO connectors and Comet has been removed. [1]Source: Apache Tomcat 9.0 Migration Guide.
