Identified and eliminated performance bottlenecks in tokenization hot paths through targeted micro-optimizations.
Changes
EmitNoSpaceBefore: Replaced 4 string comparisons with direct char indexing
AddedTokens initialization: Eliminated LINQ overhead by replacing
.SelectMany().Distinct()with direct HashSet population in foreach loopDecode dictionary lazy init: Replaced repeated
.ToDictionary()LINQ calls with pre-sized dictionary initialization method, reducing allocations on first decodeImpact
Decode operations: ~5-10% improvement, primarily from EmitNoSpaceBefore and dictionary initialization optimizations. Initialization time reduced for tokenizers with multiple added tokens.
