Stop Autofill — Wiki

Stop Autofill is a privacy-first browser extension that lets you disable browser autofill and password prompts on a per-website, per-page, or per-element basis.

What it does

Browser autofill can be helpful — until it isn’t. Stop Autofill gives you opt-in control so you can prevent autofill behavior from interfering with:

  • Admin portals and internal tools
  • QA/testing forms
  • Checkout flows and complex multi-step forms
  • Pages where the browser keeps suggesting the wrong thing

Stop Autofill does not collect or sell personal data. It does not store form values or passwords.

How it works (high level)

Stop Autofill uses user-created rules in three scopes:

  • This website — applies to the entire site (origin)
  • This page — applies only to the current URL
  • Element rules — applies only to a selected element/section, created with the element picker

Changes may require a page refresh to fully apply.
