indigo-exlink is a plugin for the Indigo smart home server that integrates the Samsung Ex-Link serial control protocol for televisions.

Why ExLink?

The controls available via ExLink differ from those available via IP. Critically, most TVs can be turned on via ExLink even when their IP controls are only available after the TV is powered on.

Requirements

  1. Indigo 7 or later
  2. Samsung TV with an ExLink port
  3. Suitable RS232 connection to Indigo server

Compatible Hardware

This plugin supports any Samsung TV with an Ex-Link port. Some TVs have obfuscated or disabled ports that can be made to work; Google can help find more details about your specific TV model. Not all plugin functions are supported on all TVs, and not all TV functions are necessarily available in the plugin.

Installation Instructions

  1. Download the latest stable release from the Indigodomo plugin store.
  2. Follow standard plugin installation process

Usage

Select the appropriate local or remote serial port for your TV when creating the Indigo device. Use Indigo's "Send Status Request" function to query the TV and populate the device's state variables. Use Device Actions to your control your TV from control pages or other Indigo devices.

Issues

If you find a problem, first check and see if it's a known issue. If you've found a new problem or have information about new device responses, please open a new issue.
