ported to net 4.0 for backward compatibility (its a frequent requirement when cursed with supporting a large number of local XP client machines [think banks, hospitals, government])

Does this commit need the .vs/config/applicationhost.config file to work? (I normally exclude the .vs folder)

It doesnt. Added it to .gitignore and removed from repo. |

Hi Thomas. Just a heads up I'll create a duplicate nuget package over the weekend if there is no interest in you merging this. Seems a waste to just leave it waiting like the previous pull request... |

Did it as part of allowing such types of users to use proper passwords.
Tested the demo web project, all test pass. Fixed some minor static/instance problems in supporting projects.
Please do pull this, as I'd love to just use your Nuget version, instead of 'rolling my own'.
