- Randomly spawn on map generation
- They are most common in the middle biome
- The pirates and the outposts scale with level difficulty
- Can be mistaken for a thalamus on sonar but is much more deadly
- Can spawn on roofs
- Killing the captain or most of the crew will destroy the outpost
- On subsequent visits to the level, the outpost will remain destroyed and may have local fauna move into it
- Small mini-outposts that appear randomly on levels
- Some appear on the map (waystations) and others are hidden until revealed by visiting or by an event
- They can be found by following sonar pings, they look similar to abyss creature yells but are faint blue in color and occur every few seconds
- Map features will typically have small trading posts or random events
Step 1 - Buy or craft the requested supplies, these are crates that are called "Beacon Electrical Supplies", "Beacon Utility Supplies" or "Beacon Structural Supplies". Crafting Supplies
- Supplies are made out of components, you can find these as loot or craft them yourself. Check your fabricator for more info Buying Supplies
- All types of supplies are always available at cities for a slightly increased price
- Specific supplies are available at other outposts for a discount
- When in a level with a construction site, deposit the requested supplies into the unit load device labeled "DROP OFF" to complete the mission
- Ignore the existing wires, these are cosmetic and to give you wires to solve the puzzle
- The input signal goes through four sets of operations (doing some sort of math on the number)
- You need to figure out what these four math operations are and the order of them
- The terminal in every relay station will show you three examples
- These examples are hypotheticals, the input value is always changing in the real relay station
- The three terminal examples are what the sequence of math operations would look like for the shown input value
- E.G. If the terminal shows INPUT 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - OUT 5
- The operations done are 1 + 1 = 2, 2 + 1 = 3, 3 + 1 = 4, 4 + 1 = 5
- It's recommend to use a calculator for this, as in game it will be much more complicated
- Once you figure out the sequence for your relay station you need to wire it up correctly
- Find the component near the INPUT sign and wire it's first output pin to the input of the first component
- Wire the output of that to the input of the next component, continue until you get to the last component (there are four)
- Wire the output of that to the first input pin on the component next to the OUTPUT sign
- The red flashing light should now flash green and the mission will complete!
If you're unsure how to wire, here's the official barotrauma wiki guide to wiring.
- Go to the distress signal
- Locate the lost diver
- Open the bot command menu
- Order the diver to follow you
- Bring them to the end of the level
- Locate the shuttle
- Kill the attacking monsters
- Repair and re-power the shuttle (You'll need a Jump Starter for this)
- Escort the shuttle to the end of the level
- You will get paid more for each shuttle personal you escort
- Each person is valued differently, as indicated by the mark amount displayed below their name
- Locate the ghostship
- Board the ship
- Deal with whatever is on board
- (Optional) Escort the ship to the end of the level to claim salvage (NOTE: Salvage is currently bugged and doesn't work! This will be fixed in the future)
- Like a regular thalamus, find the brain (typically at the far back of the cave) and break it to kill the cave
- The entrance is typically filled with ballast flora spores, so watch your ballast if you get pulled into the mouth!
- Teeth walls will cause lacerations and bleeding
- Strong currents will push you around as the thalamus inhales and exhales
- Mini-flesh spikes will poke divers that get too close
- Stomach acid vents will cause acid burns if you get too close
- Be careful of paralysis, it can be very deadly with the strong currents and teeth walls!
