Hi Gen Group,

We want to commit this pythia fragment for JHUGen LO VBF with anomalous couplings. I am unfamiliar with the exact defaults recommended for Run3, but we want the following:

  • Gen recommended default pythia tunes for Run3 13.6 TeV
  • SpaceShower/TimeShower fudge factors as written in this fragement. (To match Run2 VBF pythia configs)

Can you check to make sure that this pythia fragment reflects the above bullet points?

Best,
Jeff

@jdavis36 we are fine with the PR, except we want to make clear that dipole recoil scheme is not applicable here for a VBF sample.

Maybe @smrenna has a comment here.

EDIT: The previous requests did not have the Dipole Recoil but global recoil.

@bbilin Just to be sure, you are talking about non JHUGen samples correct? I think the last JHUGen based VBF samples requested for run 2 should use the global recoil? Unless dipole is now turned on by default, then I would have to specify that we want to turn it off?

Hello, I think the question is if it's fine to use the global recoil for these VBF samples (as in this fragment). If yes, we can merge this I guess.

I thinks this fragment has been used recently in central production with dipole recoil, even though this PR is not merged yet.
Was there any discussion outside of this PR?
If it's not relevant anymore, please close the PR and in case migrate to the new gitlab repo:
