This is a draft PR used for tracking our compatibility with JDK 24. JDK 24 is still in early access and even when it is final, we don't intend to migrate to it immediately. But, in the meantime, we want to make sure we are compatible with JDK 24 and are prepared to migrate when appropriate.
This is a child of PR #128 that updates the Gradle wrapper to 8.14.
