I'd kinda like the 3.11 branch to fall into oblivion, If jkkm is using it still, we could merge it. (v3.12 got working usb out of the box)

No worries... It was a build fix we needed for shipping in Fedora.

Would be great to hear what's happening here and in #66. Although this is a fork and upstream support is obviously what's everybody is interested in, we need to work out where we are moving with this. I have proposed one alternative solution that shouldn't require these patches, please join the discussion on the beaglebone mailing list. (My post is currently waiting for moderator's approval, but hopefully it will reach the list subscribers soon).
