Hi, sorry for the delay on this response. I'm not sure I can tell what this code does or what problem it corrects. Could you give me more information? What is the MESSAGE-ID and REFERENCES header? I'm not sure how these new attributes are supposed to be used, and there's no documentation in this PR. |

I used ezgmail for a short project and had to make these code changes to get emails to thread correctly in replies. I haven't changed the code path for attachments, because I didn't use it, but happy to do so if that's a blocker for merging this PR in.
