Investigating mechanisms of anthracycline-induced chronic cardiotoxicity using in silico biophysical models

This repository contains code developed for BN5001 Independent Study.

cell_model

  • cellml: CellML files modeling acute and chronic cardiotoxicity
  • solver: Backward differentiation engine in Python for single-cell Python simulations & CVODE solver for single-cell and electromechanical CHASTE simulations

tests

Testing (chronic) IKs attenuation, mechanosenstive Piezo1 activation, and the proposed two-hit mechanism with:

  • single_cell: Single-cell simulations in Python and CHASTE
  • tissue: Monodomain and electromechanical tissue (2D) simulations in CHASTE

visualisations: Animations of electromechanical simulations (developed in ParaView)
