What changed

  • removes the public AI ethics-review supplement so Source materials contains 10 fields total
  • keeps six protocol documents in one compact editor and updates Quick Intake to six core questions
  • makes AI review automatic while hiding the configured provider name from the badge
  • rejects the removed supplement at the public session API boundary while retaining legacy-record export compatibility
  • preserves deterministic safeguards when no external model is configured

Why

The previous UI exposed an eleventh AI-governance field even though AI review was already automatic. That made the source-material workflow feel duplicated and left the sample at 10/11 complete.

User impact

Loading the example now reaches 10/10 fields, the badge reads AI review · automatic, and researchers no longer have to complete a separate AI supplement. Existing historical notes remain readable in legacy exports.

Validation

  • python -m pytest tests -q -p no:cacheprovider — 52 passed
  • desktop browser checks for 10/10 sample completion, six document options, generic AI badge, server-side field filtering, and horizontal overflow
