Getting Started

For students in this project, follow these steps to get started:

  1. Read and complete Onboarding Document and Overview of Domain.

  2. Finish university mandatory modules for the internship placement

  3. Set up WEHI workday & finish mandatory modules and courses

  4. Have a read of the Overview of Domain to get a better understanding of the project information. This should prepare you for the whiteboard presentation with Rowland.

  5. Watch our presentation to get a better understanding of what we did for the project.

  6. Set up Milton HPC and ask for SLURM access from the WEHI support team

    a. To get access, email the WEHI support team ([email protected]) requesting access to both Milton HPC and SLURM

    b. For more information on Milton

    c. Watch Introduction to HPC and SLURM if you are unfamiliar with how it works

    d. *Note: there are also past videos on the Linux command line. Watch the videos if you have not used Linux before.

  7. Request for VAST Scratch Access here

  8. Run our custom platform in Shiny App

  9. Try out the flask app that Lachlan Whitehead has created with the steps outlined here. This should give you an idea of the type of custom user interface the BioImaging team is looking for. If the link does not work, you can find this in the BioImaging Sharepoint folder under "2023-2024 Summer Technical Notes" with the name "Technical Notes HPC_PORTAL flask app"
