The producers introduced in v12 for MC have side effects on the data. Data is not analyzed because the collections required by new producers are not available in data therefore all data events are skipped.

Different treatment of low p_T & high eta genParticles

Main changes:

  • Don't apply p_T/eta cuts on particles with status 1 (stable) or status 21-29 (from hard scattering, before radiation) particles
  • Keep all copies of genParticle top quarks

Copies of quarks were not saved if they have p_T < 15 GeV. This causes problems for the top quark, where e.g. the copy with status 62 is used for calculating the top pt reweighting systematic uncertainty.

  1. fix variable type in Muon and Electron class
  2. add TRootPhoton and PhotonAnalyzer
  3. add .gitignore file
  4. remove b-tag scale factor from DB
  5. add basic selections, photon isolation for charged hadron, pileup charged hadron, neutral hadron and photon
  6. remove Hcal noise filter for both full and fast sim for the time being
  7. add output collections in PAT for photons in order to produce top-tree from PAT.

  1. modify PAT_cfg.py and PAT2TOPTREE_cfg.py so that it can run over FAST SIM sample to produce TOPTREE.
  2. event cleaning sequence runs also for MC by default (TJ: I think it should run for both data and MC even though the event cleaning will do almost nothing for MC)
