There doesn't seem to be a method to just put in 6 teams and assign them to Blue/Red 1,2,3. For simple testing and scrimmage right now you have to enter the team numbers, then create matches. Then load each match and hope to find one that matches where the teams have already setup at driver's stations.

At the team entry screen it would be nice if you could enter the teams in order and then press a create scrimmage button. The teams would be assigned in order entered into Blue1, Blue 2, Blue 3, Red 1, Red 2, Red 3. And then jump directly over to run the match.

Its too chaotic at the practice field when multiple teams have arrived and grabbed an available Driver Station and you just want to run a number of test matches with a single team/alliance configuration.

You could run practice matches. In Practice mode, you can enter any active team number into the slot you wish.

A second option is we implemented a practice match kiosk on our fork of CA to create and edit practice matches manually on the fly. It adds the new match to the end of the list.

• Currently, it does not verify that the team is in the active list
• you MUST enter 6 teams to add the match
• not sure how the Match Play will react if a team number is added that is not entered into the Teams list. I suspect if you're using simple networking, then it might work but if you're using an advanced network then the team will not have WPA keys
• If you're running a match with less then 6 teams then entering a team number in and bypassing them would work.
• Matches are not removed from the editor page when complete, though the same is true on the match play its just highlighted with show results.

We did this because of the Week 0 events and open scrimmages we often run. The idea is for these events we can have a person in the filler que edit the matches before that match is on the field. So if a team is not able to make thier scheduled practice match the Queuing attendant can make the adjustments and the FMS/Lead Table managers don't need to scramble and reconfigure the match. Our other idea is teams can add new matches to the end of the que when open practice starts and create thier own Alliances.

I haven't pushed alot of our features to the core Cheesy Arena project. If there is enough demand then maybe CA will adopt them. For now CA is focused on supporting the Offical Hardware the FIRST fields use and we over on Freezy-Arena will exspirement with the alternate IO. If this is something CA would like to add I will have our group get this polished up and pushed to CA

@OceanaRobotics the feature you're looking for exists in the form of Test matches. For practice field usages you probably don't want to generate schedules at all, you should just sit in the test match state continuously. On the match play screen you can click "Load Test Match" to enter this state, which sets the arena to a match that's not part of any schedule. When you first launch cheesy arena you'll be in this state by default.

A test match will initially have no teams loaded. The team number boxes on the match play screen are editable, and you can type team numbers into them to set up the match's participants. Once you have put in the team numbers you want, click the Substitute button to have CA update the AP and other network hardware with the new team list. Within 30ish seconds the AP should have networks up for the newly entered teams. Note that you will need to have registered the teams through Settings -> Team List already, you can't introduce new teams into your event database this way.

You also don't need to worry about entering 6 teams if you have fewer than that on the field, any station with empty-string as the team number is ignored from a networking perspective. You will still need to manually bypass unused stations though (click the green Byp box), CA does not auto-bypass unused stations and will block match start until you bypass them.

As a side note, this functionality actually works in all match types (Practice, Qual, and Playoff). For practice matches this flow is how you implement a filler line, and in playoffs it's how backup robots and 4-team alliances are supported. There's no use case for it in quals, but the software does not prevent you from making changes if you want.

Correct me if I'm wrong but when you run a test match it doesn't create match logs? Of if it does it's not obvious how you view them. For this reason I create a practice schedule and then just substitute teams as needed to ensure we have logs if need be.

I have kicked around the idea for week zero events to set this to returen true always
