UEmka embeds Umka, a statically typed scripting language, directly into Unreal Engine Blueprint nodes.
Bundled interpreter: Umka 1.5.7.
Download UEmka.zip from the releases and extract it into your project's Plugins folder.
- Windows
- Linux
- Add an Umka Script node to a Blueprint event graph.
- Enter an exported function in the node's code editor:
fn twice*(Value: int): int {
return Value * 2
}
The * makes the function callable from Blueprint. This example creates an Integer64 input named Value and an Integer64 result output.
- Connect the execution pins, provide
Value, and use the result output. - Compile the Blueprint.
For ready-to-use gameplay examples, see Starter script assets. The assets directly in Content/Umka contain editable Source and work without external .um files; duplicate one into your project's Content folder to customize it. Matching source files are in Examples. The FileBacked / HealthColor asset demonstrates a link to Examples/HealthColor.um, with read-only Source and the linked path under Import Settings.
Optionally drag an Examples/*.um file into your project's Content Browser folder to create a file-backed script asset. Its Source is read-only and Import Settings shows the linked file path. Edit the .um file and use Reimport to update the asset; Unreal's Auto Reimport can reload changes from monitored folders automatically.
