1) Get an 8GB minimum usb drive and decide whether you want Windows 10 or 11. Use the appropriate link from below to go to official Microsoft pages for win 10 or 11 and download the "Create Windows Installation Media" option available on the page.
2) Insert USB drive in and launch the Installation media executable you just downloaded. (DO NOT COPY ONTO YOUR USB DRIVE, RUN FROM THE DOWNLOADS FOLDER)
7) Wait for the installation media tool to finish downloading and making usb bootable. After its done, you should see a new menu that says "Your USB Flash Drive is ready". Hit finish. Your USB bootable windows installer is ready.
Do NOT connect the internet to the pc you are installing windows on at all. If it has internet access during install, you will get a significantly more bloated operationg system(tons of useless apps that slow down the pc) and you will lose the ability to create a local account(your profile on the PC will be tied to your MS account). Also unplug all drives that arent the drive you want to install to and the usb installer. This makes it easier later.
1) Insert usb drive into the pc you will be installing windows to. Boot to the usb drive using the bios (f2/f12/del,etc. Refer to motherboard manual for details as to what key your board uses to boots to bios).
3) On the next screen, it will ask you for a product key, if you have one you can input here or you enter a key after install or you can use for free unactivated.
4) The next screen should ask you for the edition of windows to install. I recommend pro, unless you own a home key. It is still free to use and has a few more features.
6) Choose Custom: Install Windows only (advanced option). Here, hopefully you had disconnected all the unecessary drives so you will se only 2 drives, your usb drive and the drive you want to install windows to. Choose that drive and hit next. (format the entire drive in advance if you have used it before or click every drive partition and hit delete in this step)
