I think its a little too good for the price |
|
web vest is like 15 TC, E-web is 25, I just balanced it off of that |
|
maybe 40% blunt and slash and 55% pierce would be more balanced? |
I think if youre going to make a stealth item have armor it should be looooow like 20-30 |
|
I want it to be able to be used as a standalone armor, not just to buy time for you to put on better armor. In its current state, its basically a moderately worse webvest 15% less all stats for 10 more TC in exchange for the stealth of it, which I think is a fine tradeoff |
|
Its main purpose wouldnt be for PURE stealth, as you can see its armor by simply just inspecting it, IC reason being "feeling the armor plates" or whatever. I mainly think it could be used for like last minute throwing on right before you go out loud as a syndi, or for being less squishy if you decide to stealthops as nukie. That and gimmicks like dressing up in some badass or funny costume as a syndi before going loud. |
i'd still make it around 30-35 just because of the insuls and the swat helmet |
|
It could be 30 to be more in line with the rest of the more powerful syndi items, that would work |
|
decreasing the blunt and slash armor values to 40 too |

so for 30 tc you get:
- syndicate backpack 4 tc
- swat helmet 10 tc
- vest with 60% pierce tiered inbetween 15 tc webvest and 25 tc elite webvest
- jackboots in which you can hide more weapons like pistols/knives
- insulated gloves 10 tc (from syndie toolkit)
All of this with the ability to chameleon disguise them.
You want this to be a "stealth combat kit" for this value it needs to be way more expensive, or way more noticeable. just by disguising the vest as an alternative non-syndie vest you could get away with way less because i doubt everyone has the value of all other vests memorized.
if you want this for fun and quirky nukeops this should be included in the nukie only uplink then, remove for crew.
whole point about the chameleon set is it allows you to blend in and be stealthy, its not always that effective but looking like crew just armored is a really big advantage as is.
This whole thing needs a rebalance
|
that is very true |
|
how about for a rebalance:
It becomes slightly better armor, but also is on the same TC cost level as something like a bloodred. The armor values feel fine for its price like this, unless you see the need for an even greater reduce in the armor because of the chameleon aspect. Also as a note, I didn't add the jackboot sidearm functionality to the chameleon boots, if that feels unintuitive I can put it back, or just keep it off for balancing purposes.

for reference sec helmet is 30 Blunt 30 Slash 30 Peirce 20 Heat |
|
decided to go in the middle with 45 TC |
|
on second thought I change my mind to 40, more affordable for syndis and stuff |
About the PR
Added a new entry to the syndicate uplink, a chameleon armor set! Comes with a chameleon vest with stats slightly in between a webvest and a security vest, a chameleon hat with the armor of the swat helmet, chameleon shoes that function as jackboots, and shock-proof chameleon gloves.
Why / Balance
I think this could lead to some extra cool gimmicky syndicate moments, as well as have some practicality for use as normal armor for syndis/nukies. The well rounded stats make it a generally good choice in terms of armor for its price, but also offers the ability to be customized! This can help with stealth ops nukies not having to change in and out of armor, or even let them attack the station dressed as pirates or cowboys! Or my personal favorite.... wizard costume!! (but practical and tactical this time!)
