Goal

  • Be the cornerstone of visual styling all components of an app at once
  • Enable the creation of new UI Controls to fit in a visual style without requiring changes to an existing visual style
  • Have one per root mod / end-mod / aka App, plus the ability for ay component to be assigned a different visual style as needed
  • Ultimately reduce the number of "high level" design levers/input available to tweak a visual style mod, so authoring visual style variations is intuitive and easy to understand and do, including for non-designers, while producing professional-quality results

None of these are perfect, but Apple's one is clearly a more mature starting point
