I want to propose updating the y-axis to be a little more indicative in the skill levels and (more appropriately) the career levels expected of cert holders.

I went instead with labels that displayed where in careers most likely to get certain certifications. For example, a CISSP doesn't necessarily indicate an expert knowledge of the material. However, most people who get CISSP are usually late in their careers (senior) with a good amount of experience behind them.

Open to discussion, this is just my spitball opinion.

I don't agree with just rebranding beginner, intermediate and expert to entry level, mid career and senior, respectively. However, noting that you're just spitballing as well, I don't disagree that clarity on this subject would be good to have, and the Y axis has also come up as discussion in other issues such as #141 , particularly because of how complex of a subject it is. Ranking a certification like the OSCP and CISSP on the same chart, when both require similar amounts of effort but with very different expectations of a position in someone's career, makes things difficult. We should definitely be doing as good a job as we can to demystify the expertise/skill associated with a given certification/education level of an individual with this chart, and I think it's an important discussion to have.

I personally have no idea how I'd handle it, but framing certifications by seniority isn't how I'd go about it - I've seen plenty of overqualified seniors, and I feel like attaching that label to it isn't the way we should go. Maybe adding a bit more definition to the chart (perhaps with a card to hover over like the certifications will have as demonstrated in #137 ?) would help things?

Yep, this is why I thought career stage might be more clear. I know it's not 100% accurate, but I felt labeling where in a career most people would expect to earn a credential would be more accurate than the current axis. I went with those labels because no matter who you area (Auditor, admin, engineer, manager, etc) you'll find credentials for just about any level between entry/early and senior/late career

I like the card idea in #137. I think that in combination with a more accurate Y axis would help portray things much better.
