Hi Everyone:

Some Good News: We do have an accepted Hackathon Workshop at ACM GROUP 2016 on November 13th!

Briefly, the responses from folks trickled in and were nicely sortable by “academic job availability” and “non academic job availability”. So, pulling this whole group together Face to face is not going to be possible. I’m going to suggest the following, with a meeting in Omaha in Early August.

Please look for your name and respond where asked. :)

I would like to propose we do the following, based on stated availability of as many as possible:
Sean, Carol, AJ, Ameena and Sean’s undergrad researcher on a call to identify and agree on the architectural components for the flow through to OCDX that we intend to build in Omaha. In a sense, we will be organizing the plan for this project: (Core follow up items are listed here: https://github.com/OCDX/OCDX-Engine/wiki ) and some are entered as issues on Github Here: https://github.com/OCDX/OCDX-Engine/issues and Here: https://github.com/OCDX/OCDX-Specification/issues Can these folks meet for possibly 90 minutes online Thursday (14) or Friday (15) this week?
If not, how about the afternoon of Monday, July 18? A 90 Minute Technical Organizing Phone Call the morning of July 19, 20 or 21. I can meet any time those mornings. I would like to ensure we have Matt Bl, Matt G., Yuvi, Carol, Ameena, AJ and one of my undergrad researchers on the call if possible. This group will focus on the Jupyter Hub Deployment needed to enable some of the above, noted here: https://github.com/OCDX/OCDX-JupyterHub I think we are more in need of Aaron’s time after we address the design flow in step 1. We want to organize the data in the backend using Wikibase … but we don’t want any humans to actually see the Wikibase interface. :) This call will focus on technical design and development tasks and issues that we will tackle at the Omaha meeting. I understand Yuvi and Aaron can’t make that meeting. Meet in Omaha to Execute the plan. Shoot for Noonish on August 1, a Monday. Depart either late on Tuesday or by lunch on Wednesday. Depending on individual preferences. Carol, Ameena, Sean, Grant, <<Sean’s Undergrad>>, Grant and Matt Bl & Matt G & Possibly Matt G’s data center folks will be at the meeting as I understand schedules now. Late Tuesday or Wednesday by noon departure? We can assess priorities before arrival after steps one and two
